Van Domburg and Beurskens share a love for ceramics and art, working with clay to create pieces in which the material and the marks of the making process remain part of the experience.
It is a world that feels naturally connected to Ajen. Botanical ingredients, evocative fragrances, tactile materials and objects intended to be used again and again all invite us to pay a little more attention to our surroundings and everyday rituals.
Scent & Ceramics
Van Domburg and Beurskens created a handmade ceramic boule to complement Ajen’s refillable Scent Diffuser, in a limited batch that won't be restocked once it's sold out.
“The Boule is a signature object within our work. For this collaboration, we reimagined its shape for Ajen’s Scent Diffuser, allowing the ceramic form to naturally become part of the bottle. Our aim was to transform the diffuser into an art object, designed to become a lasting part of the home.”
Finished in Warm Cognac or Soft Clay, the glazed ceramic adds tactility and character to the familiar glass bottle. Paired with Citruspeper or Wilderloof, fragrance and ceramics come together in an object made to be noticed, used and refilled.
A reason to pause for a moment, notice the scent and enjoy the details around you.

Each boule is shaped and glazed by hand in the artists' studio, making subtle variations part of every piece.
“The two colours, Warm Cognac and Soft Clay, were chosen for their warm, earthy tones and their connection to the natural character of Ajen’s fragrances. The colours add to the feeling of each scent and bring warmth to the object. Each Boule is individually hand-shaped and glazed in the studio in Amsterdam, making every piece unique.”
Each complete set includes the handmade ceramic boule, Ajen’s refillable 250 ml glass Scent Diffuser, a 500 ml fragrance refill and fragrance sticks. When the fragrance runs out, simply refill the bottle and continue the ritual.
