Two years ago, Ajen started with a simple idea: to bring more care into everyday routines. What began with Shower Care and Hand Care has grown into a collection of refillable essentials for body and home, with new products, creative collaborations and beautiful partnerships along the way.
The friendship behind Ajen
For founders Maartje and Patrick, who have been friends for over twenty years, it's been quite a journey. Their long friendship has shaped the way they work together: with honesty, trust and a shared sense of humor, even on the busiest days. Along the way, a small team has joined us, bringing their own ideas, energy and care to Ajen.
“I still remember seeing our very first Ajen bottle on my kitchen counter,” says Maartje. “At that moment, everything we'd been working on suddenly felt real. Two years later, seeing Ajen in people's homes, beautiful hotels and stores we admire is still incredibly special. And so are all the wonderful people we've met along the way.”
Learning, creating and growing
From developing new products like our Body Lotion to creating a Limited Edition Scent Diffuser with Dutch artists April van Domburg and Edith Beurskens: the past two years have been filled with learning, creating and refining. Becoming B Corp certified this year was another meaningful milestone.
“One of the things I've enjoyed most is seeing how Ajen continues to evolve. Every new product and collaboration brings something different to learn, and there's always something we want to improve or explore further,” Patrick reflects. “We've come a long way since our first collection, but it still feels like we're only getting started.”
What's next for Ajen?
There's plenty more to look forward to. We're exploring new ways to bring our signature scents into your home, working on a new ceramic tray for our permanent collection and giving some familiar favourites a fresh look. And there are still a few surprises waiting to be revealed.
